With over 20 years experience partnering with profit and nonprofit organizations, Linda is an accomplished organizational consultant, dispute resolution specialist and one of just 3% of the 24,000 members of the International Coach Federation to achieve the credential of Master Certified Coach. In 2003 she had logged 2500 hours of coaching time, and had more than 400 hours of coach training – a number she has added to through the last decade!  Specializing in consulting/coaching executive and emergent leaders, Linda helps leaders hone their leadership goals and develop strategies for enriched personal, team and organizational performance.

Linda’s approach is direct, purposeful and action oriented. She uses high level coaching strategies along with her deep professional experience coaching leaders to gain momentum toward client goals. Her passion for excellence is brought to every coaching session, along with her humor, focus and sense of curiousity.

When not coaching clients, Linda partners various organizations. At the Justice Institute of BC, she teaches advanced mediation and negotiation, and is the writer and trainer for the award winning Conflict Coaching Associate Certificate Program. Linda has created customized trainings such as Leadership Coaching Training and Advanced Coaching Skills for various organizations including Department of National Defense, RCMP, City’s of North Vancouver, Richie Brothers International, and Insurance Corporation of BC to name just a few.

Linda has been a judge for the prestigious “Prism Awards” in Coaching Excellence. She is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Firo-B, Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument and Emotional Intelligence in Action, tools that provide opportunities for new insights and strategies  for enhanced leadership.

Lynda brings over 20 years of combined experience as a counsellor, coach, organizational health consultant, educator and curriculum writer, where she serves the needs of professionals and organizations in healthcare, education, social services and high trauma workplaces both within government and non-profit sectors. She has authored or co-authored more than 20 training programs and she has trained thousands of professionals across the country in areas such as Burnout Prevention, Change Management, Resiliency Enhancement, Stress Reduction, Vicarious Trauma, Work-Life Balance, and Wellness in the Workplace. Lynda is a passionate and experienced trainer, writer and coach specializing in supporting the success, health, and leadership development needs of professionals who make a difference!

Lynda uses proven coaching strategies, motivational interviewing approaches, appreciative inquiry and other tools for growth and change to help clients be in action towards their desired goals while fostering their core values as a leader. Lynda brings a compassionate, non-judgmental and creative style to coaching that ensures deep respect and inspired results for her clients. She is honoured to provide training and coaching services to leaders and organizations via her associate role with Linda Dobson and Associates. Linda D. has been a long-term mentor coach to Lynda and their working relationship is strong, dynamic and mutually supportive where they practice what they preach when it comes to collaboration, quality client service and leadership.

Lynda is the founder and director of both Creative Wellness – an arts-based coaching business specializing in writing for wellness, self-discovery and personal leadership, as well as Thrive Training & Coaching – specializing in change management, resiliency and employee wellness . Lynda has served many organizations including the Ministry for Children and Family Development, the Department of National Defense, RCMP Victim Services, the Salt Spring Island Fire and Rescue, Community Living BC, Indigenous Perspectives Society, and many others. She also develops online courses and teaches for both Dalhousie and the University of British Columbia, she is a trainer with the Crisis Trauma Resource Institute and Achieve Centre, as well as a long standing associate with Fisher and Associates. Lynda values collaboration, relationships, lifelong learning and leadership!
